Just wanted to let you all know what we learned from the doctors and lead poisoning nurse yesterday. Overall they say the biggest cure is to find the source and get rid of it. The inspectors from the health dept are coming out on the 17th to see if they can find the source of our problems. They do not treat lead poisoning at these numbers if the numbers will go down after finding the source. They will test him again in 4 weeks so pray for that. When I finally just asked the question of long term effects at his numbers they said that slower learning when they start school. The CDC page also says that nerve damage can start at this number. I have cried many tears for this. And it may never happen, but I am sad at the thought that he could have a strike against him from the start. But that said, we are grateful that it was caught in time and the longterm effects are what they are, because the alternative is horrible. So we will find the cause, get rid of it and not spend the next 5-10 years wondering if the side effects will show up. Colby and I are pretty protective about somethings when it comes to our kids, we dont let them have artificial sweetner, we keep our meds in lock box, but all in all we cant protect them from everything. I so wish that we could, but I look at Logan and his sweet face and funny spirit and just have to know that it will all be okay.
