Look at this sweet boy he is talking a ton and loves to smile. He has given us a few laughs, but he is still working on that. He weighed 12 1/2 pounds at his 2 month check up. He is a pretty good sleeper, he is sleeping from about 9 to 5:30 or 6 in the morning now! YEAH!!!
Growing strong. Logan is doing well, he talks a lot and speaks pretty clear for his age. He also has a strong imagination and cries if you take his imaginary stuff away from him. The lead inspector and nurse came yesterday and found lead in our windows, base boards and some doors. So as soon as some technicalities work out they will replace those. After all of the work is done, the inspector will have to come back and recheck and give it the all clear, so that will be a great piece of mind. It will be a big job, but worth it if his #'s go down and he is healthy. In the meantime the kids room tested higher than our room so yesterday we swapped rooms with them. They are now vacationing in our room and Colby and I are sleeping in the fish room with glow in the dark stars above us. How romantic! We also pushed something against every window so that they cannot be reached or played under. The inspector told me to set boundries and tell the kids to stay away from baseboards and to play in the middle of the floor. He said "they will listen, their kids." Upon hearing this I responded "Do you have kids?" He also said to clean clean clean, the house should pass the white glove test. Unfortunately we do not own white gloves so we are hoping brown will work! The state is sending a nutritionist to see us to help with Logan and also Early Access which will help monitor his development and help us catch any problems early so we can work with him in the areas he will need help. It is a relief to know what it is, but the fears are still there for Colby and I, we are praying his next test (2 weeks) will show some improvment so maybe we can breathe a little easier. so here is my plug if you have not have your kids tested. Even if your house is newer. The nurse told us yesterday that it would only take a sugar packets worth of lead to contaminate a whole football field. It is only a finger poke and you cannot reverse the effects of lead, that its why it is good to catch it early! JUST DO IT!!!
Our poor sweet boy, with all of this lead business we did not even tell many people that Ace was having tubes put in his ears today. We had to be the at 6am today and surgery was at 7. It was a super fast surgery, we were home by 8. But they still had to put him under and make an incision. I was unprepared for the part where they took him from us. I just assumed we would stay with him until he went to sleep. But the DR. came in and took him from us and we did not even see the room or the 1st recovery room. I kept thinking, where are you taking my baby! He was not to happy with us when we got back to the room. But once we go home and he had a nap, he has played and laughed all day. I think even he could tell a difference. Ace is running everywhere and is such a joy. He loves to laugh and tease, he as a bit of a temper, he likes to stomp his feet scream, but luckily he is also a super sweet hugger so we forgive him! They think the adoption should be compelted by early May! YEAH!!!
